well im going for 99 wcing and my friend hes going for 99 fishing…im at 87 hes at 91 do you think it would be a good idea to race him to 99 or is like my skill too fast for his?

    meh, they are basically the same. The thing is if he is fishing sharks and you’re cutting willows then you will get 99 before he get 93.

    The obvious answer is it depends how long each of you play per day. In an idealistic world, if both of you were playing the same amount, woodcutting would be the faster skill to 99.

    The fastest woodcutting exp would be cutting and dropping teaks on ape atoll (with a greegree). From about level 85 and beyond it can peack around 85k exp per hour. When I was getting 99, it never dropped below 75k exp/hour and was mostly at 82k exp/hour. So if you want speed, drop-cutting teak logs is advised.

    Of course there’s the more relaxed way to woodcut, which is willow logs which is approximately 50k exp/hour. Maybe a combo of these and the teaks is advised for a change of pace? (I went back and forth between the two).

    Fishing at best (barbarian outpost, heavy rod fishing) is around 55-60k exp/hour and requires dropping the fish as well. This is still a fishing technique not widely used (yet) and so I doubt your friend is doing that.
    Most people choose to fish at shilo for speed, or at monks for money. The exp for fishing there is nearly half of what the exp/hour is for cutting teaks.

    So really you can play a lot less time than your friend and still win the race to 99. Races also keep you both motivated to 99,so I advise going for it.
