As far as an ice fishing rod and reel, you can get you a Shakespeare® Fuel Ice Fishing Spinning Rod and Reel Combo from Bass Pro Shops for $20. It comes spooled with ice line, but I’m guessing it’s going to be cheap line, so I’d also buy some 4lb Berkley® Trilene® Micro Ice Fishing Line for $4. Oh, and also, you’ll need at least a cheap hand ice auger, such as the StrikeMaster® Mora™ Hand Ice Auger for $45.

Make sure to really bundle up if your going to go ice fishing. An ice house would be the best idea, but I’m sure you could go ice fishing without one. For the ice auger, rod and reel, and line, you’ll pay about $70. Backwater Charlie
