What is the best braided fishing line?
Jonathon M asked:
What is the best braided fishing line? I fish for bass and pike mostly, but the girlfriend likes to fish for catfish. So, a line that would be optimal for these fish? I dont really care for spiderline. Do you guys like stren Superbraid, Fireline?

I have tried just about every braided, bonded, pressed, superline that I can find, and I think the best braided line is Sufix Braid. It casts the best, and is just an all around great line. The sensitivity is amazing, and the line can even be used on spinning reels! Definatly worth the money IMO.

Yes BASS Fisherman is right about the Sufix. Their Performance Braid is unbeatable. I use it for spinnerbaits and crankbaits and love the stuff. Be sure that your rod has plenty backbone and a medium fast tip when cranking with this stuff because it’s low stretch has a tendency to pull hooks out if you get overly aggressive with it. I also think that Fireline is very good for flipping jigs and worms in heavy cover. It REALLY takes abuse well.
I haven’t tried the Stren only because I found other line that really works for me. I am not a fan of Stren products anyway. That’s just me.
So there’s my two cents worth of opinion.
Good Luck.
