Number one is learning all there is that’s written about a certain specie (say bass) learning every presentation, every bait to use when and where on every water learning to expect what kind of day in every situation: cold, hot, windy, cloudy, sunny, clear water murky water before a storm or after a rain lakes with no shad rivers with no crayfish…. Not most things but everything….. When you can teach how to catch bass under every possible situation and circumstance then you should start fishing tournaments and a very lucrative fishing livelihood is being a professional bass fisherman. Most off season beginning anglers guide on lakes with huge reputations for putting out bass in exceptional sizes (trophy bass) it’s all about paying the price when young when you are without expectations and commitments so when you get caught up into the rewards of starting a family you can actually do it doing something that makes you happy and your family want for naught. I will say this though. Most people forget to learn about their own brain and it’s capacity so when most people try to take their hobby to the level of making it their livelihood they don’t deal too well with it and the inevitable failure of losing drives insanity into their brain faster than anything because if your livelihood is your hobby where do you go to be able to relax and take your mind off it? and since no one will ever be so good so as to win it all each and every time out I would suggest never to make a hobby a career. so all the subjects needed to be understood and acted upon while learning your direction of conquest and securing the occupation you decide on will always be the guiding light at the end of your own personal tunnel. In that first and foremost you being number one is mandate you not only want to be the best at whatever it is you finally decide on becoming but you will not and can not accept being number two. Winning isn’t everything it’s the only thing. And just like winners prepare to win, losers prepare (by doing less than it takes to win) to lose. Artie
