I say 25 to 30 lb test that's what my husband and I use when we go down there. We use squid, bunker and killy (sp?) down in LBI. You also need a fluke rig. There are many bait shops on the island and many are very friendly and helpful, they always have some sound advice. We were trying to catch bluefish as well off that jetty.
