The above lists are really good. I’d have to throw in a white buzzbait for smallmouth as well but that may just be a regional thing as I’m further south (Kentucky) than most smallmouth fisherman.

My general rule is to go from fast, horizontal baits to slow vertical baits.
For lmb, i like a spinnerbait, boy howdy, spook jr, senko, carolina rig.
For SMB, I like zoom fluke, tube, senko, carolina, topwater.

My top five bass baits consist of:

1. 6″ or 8″ Zoom plastic lizard pumpkin seed

2. Booyah 1/4 oz. spinnerbait (chartuse/ white)

3. Bill Dance Fat Free Shad color patterns vary

4. Strike King jigs

5. Spro bronze eye frogs, Rebel pop r, buzz baits

My all time favorite is a timber tiger. they are difficult to find but still out there. Great for fishing structure and very versatile. Next would be a spinner. I prefer brass blades and the skirt color always depends on environmental factors. Third….a hula pop. Especially at night. Fourth is a jig. Again color has may variables. Last is a stick bait or a bandit. Good luck!!

2. 1/2 oz. Strike King Red Eye Shad in Sexy Shad

Largemouth Bass

1.) 6″ Plastic Worm, rigged texas style in grape color.
2.) White spinnerbait, preferably Booyah.
3.) Rapala Original Floating minnow in the black/gray or silver colors.
4.) Hula Popper in the frog color.
5.) Bomber Model A Crankbait.

Smallmouth Bass

1.) 3″ or 4″ curly tailed grub on a 1/4 oz. jig-head.
2.) White Worden’s rooster tail.
3.) Smaller size Rapala Original Floating Minnow.
4.) 4 or 6″ plastic worm rigged texas style, any dark color.
5.) Booyah Pond Magic white spinnerbait.

Crappie

1.) 2″ curly tailed grub on a 1/8 or 1/16 oz. jig head.
2.) Roadrunner
3.) Crappie nibbles, made by berkley.
4.) White rooster tail in 1/8 or 1/16 oz. sizes.
5.) 1/8 oz. Beetle Spin.
