    Economic consequences:
Some fishing boats will go our of business. The price of certain fish will rise.
    Assumptions:
The cause of dwindling fish reserves is due to over fishing (+/- ‘in the North Sea’).
There is not just a limit on the amount you can bring in with your boat but the total number of boats licensed.
The total quantity of fish caught if people stick to the policy will allow fish stocks to grow. This based on assumptions about current levels of fish stocks and their rate of growth.
Other EU nations as well as the UK will comply with the legislation. mince42
