.:RYAN:. asked: I have two reels both with 8lb breaking strain line - and are both fairly thin for coarse fishing. Would this line be suitable to fish off a pier with? Or would i need a higher breaking strain and a more luminous line? Thanks.

hayhox21985 asked: I need to buy a reel for my partner but havent got a clue what to buy?? It wud just be for basic fishing? Beginners fishing? Trout? Coarse? Not sea fishing though. Also I only wanted to pay about 30quid at the most. Would buying second hand be recommended off Ebay maybe? Please help by maybe suggesting a make of reel. Thanks very much!

asked: The last two years Ive got into fly fishing.
What I am looking for now is a fly fishing book that will help me fish the proper fly for the time of season with retrieving tips etc.
I mostly fish scottish loch and dams with stocked rainbow and brownies in the hope of moving onto sea trout fishing and salmon if I get good at this.
It would also be helpful if I could find a book that will teach me new rig tying skills, ie how to tie fly line onto backing and how to tie a leader line onto fly line without using braided leaders.
Thanks in advance for your tips.
