Is there such a thing as black fishing line?
Lilypud asked:
I remember many years ago fishing with a cane pole with black fishing line. Is this fishing line still sold today? I need something similar for craft items. The clear line doesn’t knot as well.

You might want to look for vintage line.

Spider wire makes a black line. You can also find my fishing line companies that make braided black line.
Western makes a black teflon coated braided line in various lbs.
Western N12050 Nylon Ice Line, 20# 50 yards, Black Teflon Coated 2C128
We use braided line on all our reels for our halibut sportfishing charters.

I’ll bet you were using black plastic coated ice fishing line. I haven’t seen it for sale in years. Might try a search for it.

Yes, braided dacron fishing line is still available.
Here’s a link:
Here’s a tip for using dacron line. When tying knots, use a small drop of super glue directly on knot.
