How to catch trout in the Salt River without fly fishing?

Dave asked:

My father and I are going fishing at the Salt River here in Arizona. We don’t fly fish, and would like to know how, and where to go to catch some trout? Also, will the water be moving to fast for a bobber? Or even fishing off the bottom? Thanks so much, any info will really help!

Don’t need any bait or bobbers. Use lures. Go to your local Walmart and use up about $15 or maybe $20 on some stuff. Pick you up some 1/8oz rooster tails in white, black, and chartreuse. Also, get some 1/16oz pop eye jigs in assorted colors, along with a small tackle box to carry these things.

You can also catch them with worms under a float. Backwater Charlie
