  1. Greig M Says:

you press a when the ! appears above the sprites head Greig M

  2. George Says:

you just press A when the ! appears ontop of the sprites head then it goes into battle and if you want to capture you can! George

  3. mi1332 Says:

you press A repeatedly after the ! appears over your characters head. If you press A to late the pokemon on the line will get away(so be fast). then you get to battle whatever pokemon you caught on the line then just catch it like a regular pokemon. it’s simple once you know how to do it.
    GOOD LUCK!!! mi1332

look sometimes u can get a consecutive rod meaning using either good rod/super wait till the ! appears then press a but dont do it straight away wait press a between the ! and between when it says it got away that way u can get pokemon like Gyarados/whiscash/feeba etc. Yinsey

When the ! appears above your characters head press the A button as quickly as you can because if you press it too late the pokemon will get away. Jenny

  6. Ask Pikachu Says:

Using a fishing rod uses your reflexes and it’s pretty easy to do.

Press A right away when the “!” is right above your characters head. Too early would say that you “reeled it in too quickly” and too late would say “it got away”. Both of them don’t get you any pokemon.

It takes practice and you’ll get used to it after some experience.

In Pokemon Firered and Leafgreen, the Fishing system was much more easier where as in Hoenn, the fishing system is more complicated. Ask Pikachu
