How do you use the fishing pole in Zelda Twilight?

I’ve been trying to catch a fish for this cat for about a 45 minutes now. Are you suppose to do something special with the rod to catch a fish? Or are you supposed to bring the pole up if you have not caught a fish for 45 minutes?

Fish behind the last building on the river, by the little dock. You’ll be able to see the fish in the water. Cast in, and once they pull, set the line and pull them in. The cat will automatically take the fish and run home. Then, you follow.

u need to wait until the bobber goes under the water that means a fish has bitten it. u just pull back on the control pad to real the fish in or if u have wii then pull the controller back like ur realing a fish. u need to do it to times for the cat.
