In New York we get it at WalMarts for 20.
Go online to California State Web site. Under Dept of Conservation should be the cost and places license can be purchased

You can find fishing licenses at Walmart, any bait & tackle shop, sometimes some ‘mom n pop’ small stores or some local food n’ fuel stations have them, Big 5, Bass Pro Shops, etc. You can definitely get them at the Department of Fish and Game. Here is the phone number for San Diego’s dept. of fish and game (858)467-4201.

    The costs for California licenses:
    1 day-$13.40
    2 day-$20.75
    10 day-$41.20
    1 year-$41.20
    2 rods-$12.85
