in the water and the type of bait you use

  2. Artie Says:

drop your bait straight down on the shadow side of the dock and walk it from the shoreline out to the end and back go slowly and if there is one there he might hit it. if he doesn’t, try a different bait try ten different baits and then use a night crawler last. In calif lakes use green line (trilene) lastly if you can see and cast too anything you might be able to see under the water especially rocks, downed trees, stick ups, weeds and or steep drop offs, bass always are structure oriented, always. They lie in wait to ambush any type of food and they will always be on the shadowed side of all of it.

Try and throw lures along the shore of the lake. also try and fish as close to the dock as you can, sometimes the bass like to hang out in the shade.
