At what age do you need to start having a fishing license?

you dont need a license if you are 18 and under, or 70 and over, so tell your grandad too!

In minnesota you can fish without a license if you are under 16.

It varies state to state. In Illinois and Kansas it’s 16. Check your state’s Department of Natural Resources website.

well, i think it is normally the age of sixteen. in colorado you can fish without a license until you are 16, but since i have no idea where you live this is the only information i can give you.

some states it’s as young as 12. others the age is 18. to be sure, check in your own state at a tackle store.

you have to be 17 in order for it to be mandatory to have a fishing license.
