Any tips of fishing on the rocks?
Edwin asked:
I want to fish on a rock pier but don’t know much about fishing there. I just fish in piers. I live in southern California and I’m planning to go fishing in seal beach. I would like what’s good for bait for sharks or any other big fish. I know basics so I’m not that noobie. I want to goods details and info. Thx in advance!

Out on a jetty you won’t have live bait, so the next best would be fresh dead or frozen bait. Get sardines or small mackerel, fish them whole on the bottom for sharks, rays, or halibut. For smaller fish near the rocks you can use mussels or cut fish.
Rule one while fishing off a rock jetty is watch the waves — if there’s a storm coming, it can get dangerous if you’re only a couple feet above sea level. Peter_AZ

GO TO BIG FIN TACKLE AT PCH AND SEAL BEACH BLVD,, GET BAIT THERE, GO DOWN TO THE JETTY STRAIGHT DOWN THAT SIDE ROAD AND FISH THERE, DON’T GO UNDER THE FENCE, THAT IS THE SEAL BEACH WEAPONS DEPOT AND YOU WILL HAVE THE NAVY COPS AFTER YOU, BUT IF YOU GO THERE FISH FOR HALIBUT, THEN YOU WILL CATCH SHARKS, I GO THERE AND FISH HALIBUT AND EVERY DAMN TIME CATCH SHARKS AND RAYS….
IF YOU REALLY WANTS RAYS GO TO THE NORTH SIDE OF THE PIER AND FISH WHERE THE SAN GABRIEL RIVER EMPTIES INTO THE OCEAN, THE WATER IS WARMER THERE JUSTFISH
