My dad and his crew want to go to fishing tomorrow morning. They are new to Los Angeles and California, and don’t know a lot of places. Can you please suggest any good places you know for fishing [and alos somewhere to relax and barbyque] in this area? Our zipcode is 91206. Can’t drive more than 50 miles. Thanks everyone.
Oh, and they are looking for somewhere free or cheap.

    Troutdale in Malibu.

Depends on what type of fishing you want to do.
Saltwater-The piers are going to be the best and cheapest places. However, all people will need to get a fishing license.

For fresh water there are a couple of great places to go. Try Santa Ana river lakes or even Corona lakes. Both are about $18 to get in and require NO License. Corona is the better of the 2 for Trout and catfish.

I think the lake in Anaheim is the same one mentioned by the previous fellow. Either way, it’s $20 per person…check out the link for more info on all the lakes.

Catalina Island? You have to take the Cataline Flyer over from Long Beach or San Pedro.

    Malibu Pier?

Castiac Lake (North on the 5 fwy - about an hour away) has great bass fishing. Google it!
